Hello!

Thank you for visiting our site! We are two teachers from a government primary school in Geelong, Victoria. Our school, Oberon Primary School, consists of 230 students from Foundation to Grade 6. We have 10 composite classes and over 30 staff, including 15 teachers and 13 Education support staff.

In addition to collaborating with our colleagues at Oberon, we have been lucky enough to work with the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership. This website was born from our participation in the Teaching Innovation Fellowship and a genuine need for a sequence of skills for each of the big ideas in number and a rich resource bank as identified by our colleagues and student data.

Our aim is to see all students succeed and meet the requirements of non-negotiable of big ideas to develop number sense. The logic behind this is evidence-based, as leading educators have published the need for students, particularly those facing barriers to learning maths, move through a developmental continuum and have an understanding of the big ideas in maths. This provides a foundation for them to access the next step, for example they must be able to count before they can add, and add before they can multiply.

Our research led us to the works of renowned educators such as Paul Swan, Di Semon, Sarah Powell and Ange Rogers and is based on the premise of 'The Learning Trajectory'.    REFINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????

Our goal is to continue to add to this site and help teachers and support staff deliver targeted teaching at their students' point of need with rich resources. Our hope is that this site buys back some of the invaluable time and ????!!!!!!!!!

If you have any suggestions or questions, we would love to hear from you!
